The foundation for following any of the true spiritual paths or traditional religions is to have correct views. Incorrect views lead to deviation, off the right path. Yet, today, when man begins his journey back to himself his views are incorrect. He has no direct knowledge of himself, of his divine, supra-human origin - maximum a vague intuition. His actual experience in life is misery and passivity with hardly any control over the events happening to him. The creative tension between one's current condition of passive misery and one's vague intuition about the state of normality is precisely what prompts a few to undertake the spiritual journey of self-discovery and self-realization. This remarkable book from József Kaczvinszky leads the reader on this very journey through the story of an apprentice who, guided by a guru, starts out in the domain of the rational and gradually conquers higher and higher realities until reaching initation and beyond, facing the dangers these levels entail, and the difficulties of discarding his views that no longer correspond to reality. The book presents insights that may be startling yet stimulating for many readers, including those already familiar with traditional Eastern or Western doctrines. In addition to The Seven Initiations, this volume also includes two short works: „F” Diary and Yoga Aphorisms. Both of these works offer valuable impetus for reflections for the serious reader. About the Author József Kaczvinszky (1904-1963) was a Hungarian mathematician and yoga teacher, mostly influenced by Patanjali. His main work – Kelet Világossága I-II-III (Widsom of the East: Introduction to Yoga, Practical Yoga, Mystical Yoga) – is quite unique in the world-literature on yoga. Additionally, József Kaczvinszky also produced remarkable works in mathematics and geometry – also from a spiritual vantage point. Although he was a prolific writer, almost all of his works remained in a manuscript format. This has both political and personal reasons. On the one hand, the communist regime simply didn’t allow the publication of such works; on the other hand, on a personal level, József Kaczvinszky stood above personal ambitions. It’s also relevant to mention that the author worked alone, in complete isolation not only from the leading thinkers of the Traditionalist school internationally, but also within Hungary. The Seven Initiations, “F” Diary, and Yoga Aphorisms are his first works translated into English. Read more
